After some months performing on-field tests with different technology providers, Banamex will continue with the massive introduction using the Ingenico payment terminals:

countertop iCT220 and iCT250,
portable iWL220
and the PIN Pad iPP320;

with this deployment, Banamex is thinking about making this technology available for 30 thousands retailers and customers during 2013.

This significant initiative will allow the retailers from the different productive sectors serving sundry segments of the population to accept over 1.000.000 contactless cards recently issued in the country.

About 2.000 terminals have been successfully deployed during the first stage of the project; remaining terminals will be operating before the year ends, which will result in one of the most significant expansions of contactless technology in the country.

As a market leader, making available last generation technology is something that Ingenico pursues every day. Contactless technology is in the DNA of our company and it changes the purchasing experience for the end users: it becomes faster, more secure, more reliable and convenient ", added Marcus Vendrúscolo, Marketing & Business Development Director, Ingenico Latin America.
