ReD, a leading global fraud prevention provider, and Netherlands-based payments processing specialist EMS, have today announced a strategic partnership designed to support the fast growing ecommerce sector in Europe.

The two companies will be pairing to offer an enhanced range of fraud prevention and payments solutions to ecommerce merchants across the region. Through this new partnership, EMS will be working to introduce ReD and its market leading real-time fraud prevention service, Red Shield®, to their existing and prospective merchant customer base across the Benelux region and beyond.

Marc van Piggelen, Commercial Director at EMS, commented: "We are focused on providing a one-stop domestic and cross-border processing solution which enables our merchant customers to securely and confidently transact online. Over the past few years, we have seen a big increase in pan-European ecommerce volumes. However, with this has come a corresponding rise in the cost of fraud for many merchants. Recognising that fraud prevention is an integral part of the payments proposition, we determined the need to work with a specialist fraud solutions provider to deliver an enhanced service to our merchants, supporting their growth efforts more effectively. ReD are leaders in their field and can provide our merchants with the right tools and advice to efficiently screen all their transactions in real-time. This new service will ensure merchants can minimise their fraud costs while maximising their sales revenues and ensuring genuine transactions are successfully processed."

Manish Patel, EMEA President for ReD, added: "EMS and ReD are a natural partnership. Both companies have a strong history of supporting ecommerce merchants across a variety of sectors and ReD's expertise in online payments and fraud prevention will offer a valuable service enhancement for EMS merchants. Strengthening our presence across Europe is also an important part of ReD's growth strategy and our new partnership with EMS will play a key role in supporting this aim."
