With EMV implemented almost everywhere nowadays and the on-going implementation of contactless technology, the next step for payments is the use of mobile devices to perform mobile payments. This means mobile devices must be capable of communicating securely and intuitively with contactless point-of-sales devices. To make this work seamlessly and to ensure global interoperability, EMVCo has developed 'EMV Contactless Mobile Payment - Application Activation User Interface' specification. This describes the components necessary to enable application activation from within an Application Activation User Interface (AAUI) application.

The Collis EMVCo AAUI Test Suite contains a full implementation of all the latest EMVCo Type Approval AAUI Test Cases (at time of writing: version 1.0.c, November 2012). The test suite, consisting of over 120 test cases is fully automated in terms of running tests and verifying the results. The result of this is a fully automated test environment that allows the tester to perform an EMVCo AAUI pre-certification on a secure element.

"UL continues to improve and expand the Collis test tool portfolio by developing high quality test tools for the payment and mobile markets, and we are very excited to include the new Collis EMVCo AAUI Test Suite. We are confident that our new test tool will benefit developers as it will help them to avoid costly iterations between AAUI development and certification laboratories. The Collis EMVCo AAUI Test Suite is a must for every secure element developer" adds Dirk Jan van den Heuvel, Managing Director of UL's Transaction Security service line.

In addition to the specification, EMVCo defined a set of test cases to type approve an AAUI. This set of test cases has to be performed successfully by a qualified laboratory using a qualified test suite.

UL now offers an easy-to-use, comprehensive test suite, which can be used by laboratories and will help anyone with their AAUI pre-ceertification. The test suite has been successfully qualified by EMVCo.

Collis, together with RFI Global and Witham Laboratories, was recently rebranded to UL .The Collis test tool portfolio will remain its strong brand and will continue to be further developed and expanded.
