FactSet (FDS) (FDS), a leading provider of financial data and analytical software, announced the release of a new Instant Messaging platform -- FactSet IM, an open collaboration platform purposely designed to enhance the workflow needs of global financial professionals.
FactSet Instant Messenger lets users instantly share news, charts, identifiers, and other FactSet financial data components. The platform is fully integrated with the FactSet Workstation, allowing users to easily jump between conversations and live data using shortcut keys.
FactSet IM was specifically designed to let users connect and communicate between a broad range of consumer, enterprise, and professional instant messenger networks. This includes being a member of the exclusive AOL enterprise partnership program.
"FactSet Instant Messenger provides enterprise class access to a variety of networks, in an application specifically designed for the financial professional," said Goran Skoko, Senior Vice President and Director of Product Development for FactSet. "Our solution increases the speed, accuracy, and frequency of information sharing over IM while helping our clients meet their compliance requirements."
In addition to offering unique messaging functionality, FactSet IM has taken an open approach to compliance integration. Through partnerships with various third-party providers, FactSet IM can integrate with IM Proxy compliance solutions and Saas-based archival and reporting solutions.
"Montag & Caldwell is always looking for innovative technology to streamline information workflows and deliver best of breed services to our clients. Across the firm we already depend on FactSet Workstation and our trading desk relies on the AOL network to communicate with the market; it was only logical to roll out FactSet IM," explains Dean Christians, Vice President, Trading, Montag & Caldwell. "The combination of the FactSet Workstation and FactSet IM provide us with an important edge in a compliance friendly manner."
