After a thorough assessment process, Method selected b-next for its long history and proven track record in working with leading banks, financial institutions and regulators. The b-next CMC:Suite will monitor all of Method's daily order and execution flow, performing analysis for a key set of market abuse scenarios such as spoofing and wash trading. This will be performed across all asset classes traded by Method and will provide their compliance team with a universal surveillance system that can be centrally managed.

Method Director, Marco Borsa says, "At Method, quality is essential to us, and we have a strong tradition of building trading technology in-house. To further enhance our market conduct controls, we have chosen to work with one of the leading system providers in this field to ensure that we are conducting comprehensive 'best in class' trade monitoring".

Across Europe regulators are heavily scrutinising the area of market abuse, and tighter regulation is anticipated moving forward as the financial services industry adopts key changes proposed in MiFID 2. Firms like Method must ensure that they have sufficient tools to allow them to automatically monitor their trading activity and have the ability to immediately report any suspicious trading behaviour should it occur.

As the regulators continue to focus on combatting market abuse, b-next are seeing an increase in the number of firms who are either expanding or improving their surveillance capabilities. "Compliance officers are approaching us with a need for a global consolidated view of their trading activity and the b-next CMC:Suite enables surveillance monitoring across asset classes both on and off exchange" says Martin Porter, Business Development Director, b-next. "Method devotes extensive care and expertise into developing its systems to ensure that they are robust and of the utmost quality. We are delighted to be supporting their market surveillance to continue these high standards."
