Through this relationship, Computop now offers SafetyPay as part of its Paygate payment platform. With this functionality, Computop expands its already comprehensive range of payment options that enable businesses and consumers to conduct transactions globally in a secure payment environment.

With SafetyPay, consumers with an online bank account are able to shop globally but pay locally, using their own currency to make online purchases from businesses in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe via online bank transfer. Computop Paygate merchant customers are able to offer SafetyPay immediately through this partnership, increasing the secure online payment options they can present to consumers.

"There are 300 million online banking customers around the world, and SafetyPay enables these consumers to pay directly from their online bank account for purchases from anywhere around the globe irrespective of currency and without entering sensitive financial information," said Dominic Guardino, director at SafetyPay. "We are excited about extending our payment solution through the Paygate platform which is recognized for its fraud prevention strength and compliance on a global scale."

"We are always looking to enhance our Paygate payment platform with payment choices that are important to consumers," said Ralf Gladis, CEO of Computop. "SafetyPay is particularly strong and widely used in Latin America, which will help our Paygate customers grow in the South American market, as well as into untapped markets that SafetyPay is currently exploring. Through our partnership, businesses, particularly those in retail, airline and gaming, benefit from being able to offer a secure online payment alternative that requires no credit card, no registration, no transfer of any personal details whatsoever, making it easy for consumers to transact with confidence, regardless of geography."
