Paysafecard comes to Hungary

Vienna-based paysafecard group continues its expansion. After the launch of paysafecard in Croatia in September, Hungary is yet another market in close proximity to Austria where the prepaid solution for the Internet has been long awaited.

With the launch of paysafecard in Hungary, this type of e-money - which is specially used for the purchase of digital goods across the world - is now available in one of Central Europe's most important markets.

Michael Mueller, CEO of paysafecard group, about the latest expansion: "We look into every detail before we enter a new market. Hungary is a rapidly growing e-commerce market. The potential for alternative means of payment is huge, because the credit card penetration is extremely low. We have high expectations, and the prospects are very encouraging."

The e-money product paysafecard is issued via an e-money license held by a subsidiary of paysafecard group, the Prepaid Services Company Ltd. The license is valid across the EU.

Strong local partners

More than 170 OMV petrol stations will be the first local outlets to offer paysafecard right from the start. Additional outlets and distribution partners will follow soon.
