Aconite ships PIN management system

Aconite, the leading provider of card payment and mobile management solutions, announces the launch of Aconite PIN Manager - a comprehensive solution for the end-to-end lifecycle management of PINs and other digital credentials.

Many issuers and processors are finding that the constraints of their current PIN handling processes will not allow them to cut the costs and fraud risks inherent in the use of PIN Mailers, nor to meet customer demand for access to PIN services using mobile and internet channels. There is also a growing need to integrate PIN services with the management of other digital credentials across a range of devices (cards, tokens, mobiles etc.) and platforms.

Aconite PIN Manager (APM) unifies the generation, distribution and authentication of PINs across multiple card management systems and over diverse channels. APM supports both traditional PIN distribution via PIN mailers and innovative, cost-saving PIN distribution via SMS, internet banking or a combination of channels - so called 'out of band' methods. Able to manage PINs for both magnetic stripe and EMV chip cards, where control of Offline PIN change and reset via EMV Scripting is integrated, APM extends into the management of other digital credentials such as biometrics across multiple smart products, including mobiles. APM has been architected from the ground up to meet the needs of issuers and processors for a feature-rich but flexible solution that integrates easily with both existing card management and transaction processing systems - and new online services - anywhere that PIN or other credential handling or verification is needed.

Aconite PIN Manager has been selected by a major European card processor and further customers will be announced in the near future.

"Aconite has recognised the need in the market for an enterprise PIN management solution that works for issuers and service providers." said Mike Woods, Chief Executive of Aconite. "With card issuing often split across platforms, perhaps for debit and credit cards or because of processor mergers and acquisitions, there is a need to provide a unified solution with common standards and procedures to ensure consistent and secure handling of PINs. Couple this with the need to move away from expensive and insecure PIN mailers and to integrate with modern delivery mechanisms such as mobile and web-banking, and the case for a new solution becomes clear. Aconite PIN Manager delivers against those requirements and positions customers for mobile and for other types of credential."
