Erudine Financial, the financial control systems specialist, has appointed Ian Chester as Commercial Director to support the launch of the business into the financial services sector.

Chester joins from Calypso Technologies where he served as General Manager of EMEA, focusing on business development. Prior to Calypso, he held a similar role at Odyssey Financial Technologies, giving him a rounded and current knowledge of the challenges facing both buy and sell-side firms.

He also spent five years at Financial Objects, beginning his role as Sales Director before taking the helm as CEO. In his time at the organisation, the company grew from start-up to acquisition, through to IPO and a further acquisition.

"Erudine has a truly unique technology which I believe will make a real difference in enabling financial services organisations to get the most out of their existing systems and meet the huge increase in regulatory and internal control demands," said Chester. "The opportunity to be a part of the company from an early stage really attracted me."

Julian Lee, founder and CEO, Erudine Financial said, "Ian is a great addition to the Erudine team bringing with him over 30 years of experience across the financial services industry. Having Ian on board will enable us to continue to grow and provide new and existing clients with the tools they need to take control of their organisation."

Chester has been involved in several other success stories in the financial sector including Director level roles with Terence Chapman Associates, now part of Capco, and BIS Banking Systems, now part of Misys. He also founded Glenview Consulting, where he used his experience to help grow a number of other financial technology providers including City Networks and Message Automation Limited.
