TimesTen, Inc., a provider of real-time infrastructure software, and TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX), a leading business integration and process management software company that enables real-time business, today announced plans to deliver a more powerful BAM solution in response to the evolving infrastructure requirements of customers, including vast increases in the volume, complexity and velocity of data.

Building upon an existing technology partnership between the two companies, TIBCO will embed the TimesTen/DataServer real-time database system into the next release of TIBCO BusinessFactor — helping companies more easily deploy BAM solutions that improve operational business performance and increase overall business efficiency.

"Companies don't lack data; they lack the ability to make sense of it in a timeframe that enables them to take action. TIBCO BusinessFactor gives them that ability," said Jim Groff, CEO, TimesTen. "Add to that our latest release of TimesTen/DataServer, which is capable of capturing over 60,000 events per second and accessing over 200,000 records per second on a commodity-class 4-CPU server. Combined, TIBCO BusinessFactor with TimesTen will deliver even more horsepower and aggregation speed, keeping customers a step ahead of rapidly increasing data volumes for some time," added Groff.

"Doing business in real time calls for re-thinking the enterprise to support a more dynamic, event-driven world. This, of course, has significant implications on processing requirements and led us to search out innovative technology," said Scott Fingerhut, director, Business Optimization products, TIBCO. "Increasingly, companies are seeing the value in understanding, optimizing and aligning their operational business processes to a common set of objectives in order to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve responsiveness when threats or opportunities arise. We believe TIBCO BusinessFactor with TimesTen embedded is ideally positioned to support these leading-edge, real-time architectures," added Fingerhut.

The move toward service-oriented architectures (SOA), event-driven architectures (EDA) and composite applications is driving exponential increases in data volumes and complexity. As a result, demand is growing for a next generation BAM solution that can deliver exceptional performance and availability. TIBCO BusinessFactor can help companies achieve this through its event aggregation capabilities coupled with event collection, personalization, visual and interactive interfaces (or "dashboarding") that make it easy to understand operations in the context of overall business objectives, past performance and current business conditions.

As part of the next release of TIBCO BusinessFactor, TimesTen/DataServer will ensure that large and growing event and/or data volumes can be processed with ease. This will enable TIBCO customers to more quickly and intelligently identify and address business risks and opportunities as they occur in real-time.
