Stock Exchange of Thailand launches iPad app

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has continued to boost opportunities for investors by today launching a new application, called "OppDay" on iPad for its highly-popular Opportunity Day event, where top managements of listed companies meet directly with fund managers, analysts and investors each quarter, enabling them and the general public to find out about specific firms directly from the companies themselves, especially about performance and plans.

SET Executive Vice President Chanitr Charnchainarong said: "SET has developed the application for watching Opportunity Days via iPad, enabling these users to access listed company information conveniently and quickly. They can download the free OppDay application now to watch previous meetings and watch live Opportunity Day webcasts for the third quarter, starting from November 5.

"In addition, investors can use the OppDay on iPad application to download key information of all listed companies as presented on Factsheets, consisting of key performance, trading data, and other statistics. They can also access SET's Stock Focus book, which gives information on outstanding securities. The OppDay application also helps support investor relations of listed companies," Chanitr said.

"We expected that this app will get a warm welcome from both domestic and overseas investors, as information is produced both in Thai and English, broadcast live and archived. In addition, we are working on adding annual reports in this application," Chanitr added.

So far, more than 200,000 persons from 113 countries have viewed Opportunity Day webcasts. Firms will present their third quarter performances from November 5 to December 11, 2012, with 92 companies with a combined market capitalization of about THB 3.5 trillion presenting their performances.
