The American Red Cross, one of the World's leading humanitarian organizations, has recently implemented a remote deposit capture (RDC) solution to assist in the processing of donations collected at their chapter locations throughout the country.

Panini, a global payments solutions provider, was selected to provide hardware, service and support, while FTNI, an industry leading receivables management solutions provider, implemented their ETran software including integration with existing Red Cross systems.

The American Red Cross chose to integrate several Panini scanners with their RDC initiative. The Panini Vision X, with its speed, reliability and versatility, is used in their back offices to electronically capture check donations. The Panini wI:Deal™ was selected because of its ability to process a variety of document sizes, such as gift letters, payment coupons and check donations. FTNI's ETran software provides a single donation gateway to process card, check, ACH and cash donations. The software was integrated with key Red Cross back office applications including finance, accounting, and donor databases.

"I would describe my experience working with Panini and FTNI to develop RDC here at Red Cross as 'stand and deliver'," stated Steve Casey, Corporate Treasurer for the American Red Cross. "Their products have done exactly what I expected them to do." The implementation of an RDC system is another example of how the Red Cross continuously innovates to insure that each donor's contribution can be maximized to help those in need. Notes Casey, "The concept is proven, it's just so amazing how fast it has grown."
