Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) is providing eBay users with an exclusive offer for a fast and convenient way to take control of their credit and safeguard their personal information. Through the Equifax Credit Zone, online buyers and sellers can take advantage of personal credit management and identity theft protection tools to manage their financial health.

"Equifax has joined forces with eBay to help more consumers combat identity theft and prepare for online transactions by offering two unique products for eBay members," said Vince Corica, group executive, Personal Solutions, Equifax. "With the launch of Equifax Credit Zone, we have taken the Equifax/eBay relationship to the next level by enabling the millions of consumers who visit eBay each day to benefit from Equifax's credit management products and wealth of information on identity theft protection."

Through this relationship, online buyers and sellers gain access to a credit management resource providing consumers with exclusive bundled services and promotions for select products, including Score Power and the 3-in-1 Credit Report. In addition to purchasing their Equifax Credit Report(TM), credit score and monitoring services, visitors to the Equifax Credit Zone can benefit from the following customized services:

  • Equifax Credit Watch for eBay - An online monitoring service that alerts consumers of any key change to their Equifax Credit Report and provides a free copy of Score Power®. Score Power gives users on-demand access to Fair Isaac's FICO® credit risk score - the most widely used score in lending.
  • 3-in-1 Credit Report, eBay Special - When users purchase two 3-in-1 Credit Reports with Score, this eBay special gives them a third one free. The easy-to-read format of the 3-in-1 Credit Report enables consumers to view a line-by-line comparison of their credit file from all three nationwide credit reporting companies.

"It is critical that we continue to help educate consumers about how they can protect themselves from identity theft," said Gary Dillabough, vice president, Strategic Partnerships, eBay. "The launch of the Credit Zone service is part of eBay's ongoing commitment of providing our millions of buyers and sellers with a trusted, safe and well-lit marketplace, and Equifax's extensive knowledge and expertise help us toward this goal."
