As the number of UK consumers using their mobile phones for financial transactions increases, The Share Centre launches a mobile dealing service to enable its customers to access their accounts on the move.
Research suggests that 11.9% of UK consumers now use their mobiles to make payments online, double what it was 12 months ago1. Also, an estimated 20.4% of people bank via their mobile, compared to just 9.7% in 20102.
The Share Centre saw a 67% increase3 in mobile traffic to its website from 1 January 2012 to date compared to the same period last year, further highlighting the demand from its customers to be able to deal on the move from a reliable mobile site.
Mobile dealing (m.share.com) from The Share Centre allows customers to buy and sell UK shares and search stock prices from any mobile device with internet access. Customers with iPhones, iPads, Blackberrys, Android phones and various other mobile devices can view a streamlined version of share.com.
Guy Knight, sales and marketing director at The Share Centre, said: "We understand that when it comes to trading, timings can be vital. This is why we have developed an easy, quick way for our customers to deal from their mobiles.
"Without a specific mobile application, during busy dealing periods as much as 10% of customer deals come from mobile devices. We hope to see a significant increase in access and dealing via mobile now that we have optimised a site for this purpose. Customers can deal quickly, on the move, from any device"
