Crown Agents Bank has selected SunGard's Ambit Core Banking solution to help boost operational efficiency and reduce costs.
The SunGard solution will replace the bank's legacy system, helping modernize its architecture. Crown Agents Bank is a UK bank specializing in providing financial services to central banks, governments and charities.
The bank selected SunGard's Ambit Core Banking because of its rich functionality and service-oriented architecture (SOA), which helps reduce maintenance and support costs. In addition to core operations, Ambit will also support the bank's trade finance business. Moving these operations onto Ambit Core Banking will help deliver a single customer view and help the bank offer Web-based, front-end capabilities in this area for the first time.
Carol Pattullo, director of operations at Crown Agents Bank, said, "SunGard's Ambit Core Banking is used by banks of our size as well as larger enterprises, which demonstrates its ability to handle a large range of volumes and support our planned growth."
David Hamilton, president of SunGard's banking business, said, "Crown Agents Bank's decision to upgrade its core banking solution with SunGard's Ambit Core Banking will help it run its operations more efficiently and cost-effectively through greater automation achieved by Ambit's SOA-based infrastructure."
Based on a service-oriented architecture and built to BIAN standards, SunGard's Ambit Core Banking is a universal banking solution that provides comprehensive instrument and product coverage for retail deposits and lending, commercial banking, trade finance and treasury and balance sheet management. Ambit Core Banking helps banks more effectively manage increasing margin pressure and growth by helping them optimize their balance sheet profile and develop a strategic balance sheet management framework.
