DigitalPersona, Inc., a global provider of multi-factor authentication and access management solutions, today announced that Service Credit Union is using DigitalPersona® Pro Enterprise software and U.are.U® Fingerprint Readers to secure access to applications and customer information, as well as improve employee productivity.

The combination of DigitalPersona Pro software with fingerprint biometrics enables Service Credit Union to quickly and securely gain access to applications and websites, resulting in faster customer response times.

Service Credit Union is a Top 100 credit union currently serving more than 164,000 members worldwide. With more than 600 employees, the credit union needed an authentication solution that could simplify and secure access to more than 100 applications and websites employees use on a daily basis. After evaluating multiple authentication solutions, Service Credit Union chose DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise with fingerprint biometrics because of its multiple configuration options and ease of use. DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise allows employees to log in to the network once and then acts as a password vault, enabling automatic login into any application or website with one touch fingerprint authentication. Since deployment, the solution has been positively received by employees, and has resulted in a near complete elimination of password-related network and application lockouts, which has increased employee productivity.

"Our employees had so many logins they couldn't remember them all, so they were just writing them down anywhere," said William Arnold, chief information officer at Service Credit Union. "With DigitalPersona's software and fingerprint readers, employees no longer have to remember passwords. The solution simplifies the login process across the board and improves our ability to provide exceptional service to our members."

"Service oriented organizations are facing more pressure than ever to provide both strong security and good customer service," said Mike Printz, vice president of worldwide sales at DigitalPersona. "However, in most cases, security and customer service can be diametrically opposed. DigitalPersona's solution allows organizations such as Service Credit Union to simplify the login process by eliminating the user's need to remmember their credentials. This strengthens security by enabling the use of stronger passwords, while not impacting customer service."
