First Data currently issues cards on behalf of Getin Noble Bank in Poland and provides card management as well as authorisation and transaction settlement services. The two organisations have worked together since 2000.

The new agreement additionally extends the scope of services provided by First Data to include Proactive Risk Manager, a fraud discovery and notification system which has been designed to meet banks' growing demand for anti-fraud solutions. Proactive Risk Manager will enable Getin Noble Bank to provide enhanced security to its cardholders.

Pawel Wawiernia, director of the Card department at Getin Noble Bank, said, "The six-year extension of Getin Noble Bank and First Data's contract confirms our mutual trust and is a testament to the effectiveness of our collaboration to date. Thanks to First Data we have access to the latest security technologies to safeguard transactions. This allows us to create value for our customers."

"In view of the rapidly changing market environment and the economic downturn and associated market anxiety, this multi-year contract extension with Getin Noble Bank is quite extraordinary and a reflection of the stability and past success of our business relationship. Getin Noble Bank is growing rapidly and we look forward to our ongoing collaboration and the opportunities it will bring," said Grzegorz Długosz, a board member of First Data's business in Poland.
