Capital markets technology and operations consultancy Catalyst Development has added another string to the bow of its Operations practice, with the appointment of Steve Clements as Managing Consultant.
As a senior specialist in operations, treasury and liquidity, cash and collateral management, Steve's area of focus will be change and improvement within investment banks' treasury, funding and liquidity functions.
Steve has over 30 years' experience in investment banking, a large proportion of which was spent designing and delivering change - covering areas including STP, automation, risk, controls, regulation, centralisation and global coverage. He has extensive knowledge of end-to-end processes including front office, accounting, operations, settlements, control, compliance, risk and IT.
Steve has held many senior, high-profile roles managing operational departments in global investment banks, including Cantor Fitzgerald International (Director - Head of Treasury, Europe and Asia) and Rabobank International Limited (Director - Global Head Liquidity Management - Group Treasury Services).
Before joining Catalyst, Steve worked as an independent consultant on projects covering, for example, Nomura's direct membership of the CLS multi-currency cash settlement system and BNP Paribas Securities Services' liquidity/treasury management and investment banking products.
