Proxama, the leading provider of near field communications (NFC) mobile wallet and mobile marketing technology, has announced the appointments of Russell West and Stuart Williams.

Russell West has joined to head up Proxama's business development in the mobile wallet sector, where he will be responsible for growing partnerships and delivering NFC-enhanced payments through its growing portfolio of mobile wallet and UI products.

Russell has joined from specialist pre-paid programme manager Payment Card Technologies and has 10 years' experience in the payments industry with a proven track record for delivering innovation and revenue for his clients through a number of payments and loyalty initiatives.

On joining Proxama he says: "The mobile wallet market is evolving quickly and the winners will be those who find the right model and add genuine value. This is where Proxama comes in. Never before have companies and establishments been able to engage so completely with their customers - directly to the devices they value so much - converging marketing to an easy payment experience. I am thrilled to have joined such an experienced and passionate team who really do live and breathe NFC!".

Stuart Williams has joined to take up the role of Product Business Analyst, working on Proxama's unique TapPointTM marketing platform. He has previously worked for GalaCoral and Virgin Money, in analysis and project management roles.

Proxama founder, Neil Garner commented: "These are exciting times for those businesses operating in the mobile market. The interest in NFC from advertisers, network operators and handset manufacturers is growing at a phenomenal rate and the demand for our services is mirroring that rapid increase. The challenge for us is to recruit people who have the right skills in what is still a very new technology to deliver high quality NFC marketing and payment solutions for our clients. I am delighted that we have been able to secure the services of Russell and Stuart as they are both high calibre operators and I am sure that they will contribute to the growth of Proxama's client base."
