Centralny Dom Maklerski Pekao S.A. (CDM Pekao), one of the largest securities firms in Poland and part of the UniCredit Group, has selected Valdi for direct market access trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

CDM Pekao specializes in offering multi-asset, multi-market trading access to retail investors. Its traders will use SunGard's Valdi workstations, trading tools and gateways for trading connectivity to the exchange.

Wojciech Rutkowski, president of the management board at CDM Pekao, said, "Our parent company UniCredit Group has a long-standing relationship with SunGard. In addition to the success of that relationship, we selected SunGard's Valdi because of its comprehensive functionality and scalable architecture that can support our growth. A reliable vendor partner like SunGard gives us confidence that we can seamlessly migrate our trading business when the WSE introduces the new NYSE Euronext UTP trading engine later this year, as well as helping us fully leverage the engine's new capabilities."

Philippe Carré, global head of connectivity for SunGard's capital markets business, said, "Many Polish brokers are re-evaluating their technology infrastructures as the move to the Warsaw Stock Exchange's new trading platform gets closer. SunGard is helping customers like CDM Pekao by providing the functionality, low latency and scalability that they need to migrate to the exchange's new technology and help expand their business."
