ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading international provider of payment systems, announced today that Engineering, a leading Italian systems integrator and outsourcing provider, has expanded its relationship with ACI to support a new contract for issuing up to one million prepaid cards for online commerce.

Engineering has been a long-time ACI customer, using ACI Issuer and ACI Interchange to issue credit cards and provide processing services. ACI Issuer provides financial institutions with a single platform for issuing and supporting credit, debit, pre-paid and corporate cards. With this latest agreement, Engineering now plans to leverage ACI Issuer and ACI Interchange on the UNIX platform, enabling them to issue prepaid cards to new customers in a cost-effective manner.

"ACI Issuer on UNIX allows us to provide a cost effective platform to expand our processing services into prepaid," said Paolo Olivieri, project manager, Engineering. "We have years of experience with Issuer in a mainframe environment, so we felt very comfortable moving to UNIX as a new platform. I am sure that the tremendous success we have experienced will continue and the new system will allow us to support new customers and control our operating expenses."

"ACI is pleased to be able to build from our previous success with Engineering as they expand their offerings and grow their business in the exciting market of online commerce," said Paul Thomalla, Managing Director, EMEA, ACI Worldwide.
