Ingenico partners SilverPay for UK taxi push

Ingenico (Euronext : FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, today announces its partnership with SilverPay to supply mobile and countertop payment units to taxi fleets across the UK.

The deal with SilverPay will provide the taxi and private hire payment specialists with Ingenico's EFT930G, a flexible GPRS-enabled mobile payment solution, and the iCT220, a new generation countertop chip and pin device which guarantees rapid and secure transactions. A first contract has already been secured with a medium-sized taxi fleet in Gateshead and with additional opportunities in the pipeline. The overall taxi and private hire market in the UK is sizeable, with more than 250,000 vehicles currently in operation.

Established in 2002, SilverPay supplies payment solutions, primarily to private transport operators, and offers first line support and issue resolution for customers.
