Realex Payments announced today that it has been selected as the payment gateway partner for HSBC Merchant Services.

The six year deal involves Realex Payments providing a fully managed gateway solution to HSBC Merchant Services new and existing client base.

The new offering, named Global Iris involves three key elements; the provision of a fully branded gateway for existing and new online and call centre businesses, the provision of dedicated corporate and SME sales support resources for HSBC Merchant Services teams and finally the provision of a dedicated customer support function.

Colm Lyon, CEO and founder of Realex Payments, said "To be selected as the payment gateway partner by HSBC Merchant Services represents a significant milestone for Realex Payments. This deal doesn't just involve white labelling our product, but it is instead a deep partnership which sees us build a team dedicated to providing HSBC Merchant Services clients with the customer service that makes us different."

Speaking of the announcement, Chris Davies, Managing Director of HSBC Merchant Services said: "We are excited about our partnership with Realex Payments and look forward to working with them.

"We were impressed by their growth in recent years, professionalism and commitment to provide the best service. The white labelled service they will provide will combine virtual payments with hosted and non-hosted payment pages, which can be selected individually or as a suite. We feel that this service, called Global Iris, and our chosen partner will only result in benefits for our merchants."

The deal involves the following:
- Realex Payments providing a fully managed and branded gateway solution called Global Iris to HSBC Merchant Services new and existing clients. - Realex Payments managing the migration of HSBC Merchant Services existing client book to the new service.
- The provision of a fully managed sales support function for Global Iris' new business, focussed on growing the Global Iris book across all sectors and size of business. - Ongoing managed customer support for all Global Iris clients; a dedicated team of integration and support experts dedicated to the ongoing management of Global Iris customers (both new and migrated).

"As a company we have grown significantly over the past decade, making considerable gains in the European marketplace over the past eighteen months in particular. This announcement is further reinforcement of our capability and scalability and we very much look forward to working with Global Iris now and into the future." Colm concluded.
