The outsourcing contract between Hamburger Sparkasse and Wincor Nixdorf Portavis, originally signed in 2005, has been extended retroactively as of October 1, 2011.
Over the next five years, Wincor Nixdorf Portavis therefore continues to be responsible for Hamburger Sparkasse's self-service cash management, software applications and IT infrastructure, which consists of the data center, PCs and network and has been extended since it was first outsourced in 2005. New responsibilities include central operations management for all self-service systems and the technical operation of a Web-based portal and various banking applications belonging to the savings bank. The increasing automation and optimization of processes means that Hamburger Sparkasse benefits from lower operating costs and higher performance transparency.
In addition to classic hardware maintenance and repairs, Wincor Nixdorf Portavis will also provide remote monitoring and additional monitoring of cash holdings for 370 ATMs, some 500 statement printers and around 140 automated teller safes. As a result, all of the bank's cash management activities, including the planning and control of cash-in-transit (CiT) services and the device-specific optimization of cash holdings, are therefore in the hands of Wincor Nixdorf Portavis. Remote monitoring of the self-service systems in conjunction with additional monitoring of the total cash inventories in the bank's ATMs ensures that system availability can be improved even more and that faults can be reduced.
To supplement Hamburger Sparkasse's Web-based portal, Wincor Nixdorf Portavis also operates a new process portal application that enables employees to access the IT systems and consulting applications. In addition, various banking applications for document archiving and credit risk management as well as a solution for central and local printing are also being operated.
