Independent global insurance and reinsurance broker Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC) has just chosen Sequel to modernise its London-based insurance business with a five year software and consultancy support programme.

Sequel's Eclipse Broking software will replace multiple legacy systems with just one modern broking system. The implementation is already underway and will go live in the summer of 2012.

"Implementing Eclipse Broking is the first step in harmonising our technology across the group, which will bring business benefits straight away," says Brent Kruger, Group Chief Information Officer, CGSC. "The strength of the software and Sequel's track record for delivery will allow us to streamline many of our global processes, through an enhanced technology portfolio." Shaun Hooper, Chief Executive Officer, Cooper Gay & Co, adds: "This is an exciting opportunity to bring further benefit to our clients and our people. We chose Sequel because they demonstrated a detailed understanding of our business and of the market place".

Michael Graham, Sequel's Sales and Marketing Director, says: "We are seeing a trend - and CGSC's decision is the latest evidence of it - where forward thinking brokers are looking to modernise and consolidate their systems so they can best deal with regulation, London market initiatives and increasingly hungry competitors.

"CGSC wanted a market leading system so they came to us. They can now manage their business data more quickly, effectively and economically to the great benefit of their internal and external stakeholders," Graham concludes.
