Maron will assume overall responsibility for managing all exchange-related activity, as well as establishing, maintaining and overseeing relationships between SuperDerivatives and exchanges globally. Maron brings a vast degree of experience in exchange connectivity and data handling to SuperDerivatives. Previously, he was Chief Content Officer for Telerate, Managing Director of Information Systems at Icap and Director of Strategic Projects at Reuters.
"It is clear that the transparency SuperDerivatives has created in currency options in the past few years has benefited both the buy-side and the sell-side immensely. Our goal is to introduce similar transparency to all the other derivatives markets. We believe that generating a higher level of pricing transparency in exchange traded options is necessary in order to attract more participants to the market place," says David Gershon, chief executive of SuperDerivatives.
"The exchange division is a key component of our strategic plan to include exchange products on our systems in order to deliver a complete solution to the derivatives users in all markets and asset classes. Jeff Maron's enormous experience and knowledge of the exchange industry is key to achieving these goals," adds Gershon, commenting on Maron's appointment.
"I believe SuperDerivatives spans the gap between the over-the-counter (OTC) and exchange-traded option markets. SuperDerivatives will integrate the exchange and OTC markets simultaneously, helping both markets grow liquidity by bringing increased transparency to all derivatives users around the world," says Maron.
"I am excited about having the opportunity to make this concept materialize. Part of our strategy is to connect to all the major global exchanges and also to make the SuperDerivatives suite of products more complete for handling all derivatives products," adds Maron.
