Diebold appoints CIO

Diebold, Incorporated today announced two key appointments to its corporate leadership team. The company has hired David H. Ramsey to fill the role of vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Additionally, Diebold promoted Chad F. Hesse to vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Ramsey will be responsible for leading and overseeing the operations of Diebold's global information technology (IT) organization. "We are very excited to have David join the Diebold team," said Bradley C. Richardson, executive vice president, chief financial officer, Diebold. "His extensive IT experience and knowledge, as well as keen business sense, will be invaluable as we continue to transform and develop our IT organization."

Hesse will be responsible for all of the company's legal matters, including management of in-house legal staff and supervision of outside counsel. "Chad has proven to be a successful leader in Diebold's legal group, and has played an integral role in improving Diebold's compliance program," Richardson said. "Chad's experience and time at Diebold will continue to benefit the company as we continue to strengthen these areas."

Ramsey most recently served as managing director, global IT and GBS transformation, at The Hackett Group, a global strategic business advisory, operations consulting and finance strategy firm. Prior to that, he served in CIO roles with Kinetic Concepts Inc. and PSS World Medical Inc.

A native of La Crosse, Wis., Ramsey will relocate to the Akron/Canton, Ohio, area. He holds a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. Hesse most recently served as vice president, interim general counsel and secretary at Diebold. He joined the company in 2004 as corporate counsel and assistant secretary. Before joining Diebold, Hesse was an associate attorney with Hahn Loeser + Parks LLP, specializing in the business practice area. Prior to his work at the law firm, Hesse served as law clerk for the Honorable Judge Ishmael A. Meyers, Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands, Division of St. Thomas and St. John.

He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. He holds membership in the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals (SCS&GP) and Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).

A native of Marcy, N.Y., Hesse received a bachelor of arts and science degree with a dual specialization in international business and business pre-law from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He also received a juris doctor, graduating magna cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
