The information gives MarketMap users the ability to identify controversial companies across sectors and countries and to compare companies' ratings with their peers and their sectors.

Reputational risk plays an important role in helping investors and advisors select investment opportunities. MarketMap will now be able to offer daily screening of thousands of newspapers, online news pages, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Web sites, blogs, and governmental agencies in 13 languages to help firms identify environmental, social and corporate governance controversies related to publicly traded companies. MarketMap has also integrated the RepRisk Index (RRI) into its terminal, which analyzes and quantifies this information to provide an indicator for global reputational and financial risks for individual companies and sectors.

Robert Jeanbart, executive vice president and global head of market data at SunGard, said, "By adding RepRisk data to MarketMap's existing company information we are helping customers proactively control financial and reputational risks. ESG data is becoming increasingly important for investors to help ensure long-term performance. "
