American Banknote Corporation ("ABnote"), a leading global provider of secure documents, issuance systems and related services, continues their longstanding commitment to innovation in payments with the launch of a new division dedicated to pioneering Mobile NFC technology; based at Abnote's Ingleburn, Australia Center of Excellence, the new team will develop and deliver fast & convenient mobile payment solutions.
ABnote also announced the promotion of Thomas Bellenger, Mobile Technology Development Manager to head the division. "ABnote have been working with issuing partners and large development organisations in actively building NFC technology solutions for over 3 years; we have seen significant growth in mobile payment applications in the last 9 months; we created the Mobile NFC division to meet the increased demand from the market" said John Ekers, ABnote's Global CIO.
The main focus of the team will be to progress the development of secure mobile applications that work in conjunction with our Trusted Service Manager platform (TSM). ABnote TSM services will include mobile developments with a variety of handset platforms, EPINS, and distributed instant issuance across finance, government and corporate industry sectors.
