Bank Adviser provides Middleburg Bank with a monthly e-communications channel to reach clients who are more online oriented and less likely to visit a branch because of their use of online and mobile banking.

Middleburg Bank, a full service commercial bank founded in 1924, serves Virginia residents, with a concentration of its offices in the communities west of Washington, D.C. This region is home to numerous technology businesses employing a tech-savvy workforce. Middleburg Bank deployed IMN's Bank Adviser e-newsletter to establish a more frequent, online communications channel to engage its clients.

"E-communications is a requirement to get to today's consumer, plus it is more cost effective," said Robert Miller, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Middleburg Bank. "Not only is the postage savings huge, the financial content library means we don't have to pay to create every article."

Bank Adviser offers a library of financial articles of interest to today's customers. At many community banks, internally developed newsletters often only contain information on the institution and its products. Today's customers are seeking information that helps them make better financial decisions throughout their lives.

"The IMN content is more relevant and more actionable for our clients," said Miller. "Our clients care about their own lives and finances, and the articles provided by IMN do a good job of providing insights and education on the topics of interest to our clients."

Bank Adviser also enables banks to incorporate their brands within the e-newsletter. As a part of each bank's implementation, IMN's team creates an e-newsletter masthead reflecting the bank's brand, so that each e-newsletter feels like it comes from the institution.

"We see many banks like Middleburg Bank that are searching for a way to increase relevant communications with their customers through online media," said Ken Genest, director of sales, consumer retail and financial services at IMN. "Bank Adviser provides community banks with an easy-to-use and cost effective way to establish an e-communications channel to customers."
