The solution will be installed across Europe in more than 1,000 retail locations. With this new system in place, Avis will become the first European car rental company to offer their customers a fully PCI DSS compliant chip and PIN solution, providing an enhanced, secure car rental payment experience. The roll out is scheduled to commence across mainland Europe at the beginning of 2012.

Ingenico's Axis solution is an international transaction management platform which centralises the management of transactions for large businesses, helping to control costs and provide end-to-end security and compliance with all international payment regulations and standards. The proven solution has already been deployed as a managed service for merchants in a wide variety of sectors such as retail, hospitality, transport and fuel. Ingenico supports more than 80,000 active lanes on the Axis platform with over 1.6 billion transactions routed in Europe every year.
