The Payments Council today (8 September) announces the appointment of Adrian Kamellard as its new Chief Executive.
Mr Kamellard, currently an Executive Director within the Cabinet Office, will take up the role on 1 November 2011.

He has a strong track record in both the public and private sectors and great experience of building and leading successful teams. Adrian is well placed to help us drive through our innovation plans for the way we pay and to communicate these to the many stakeholders we need to reach."
Since 2010, Adrian Kamellard has worked as an Executive Director in the Cabinet Office, with responsibility for managing strategic commercial issues and creating new commercial structures in central government. This has involved successful renegotiations of high-value IT service and outsourcing contracts resulting in reduced costs of £800 million whilst maintaining and improving services. Prior to the Cabinet Office, Adrian was Head of Major Projects at Partnerships UK and latterly seconded to be the Chief Executive of Broadband Delivery UK. At Partnerships UK, Adrian led the team that designed and negotiated a wide range of high-value Information Communications and Technology and business process projects.
Earlier in his career, Adrian was an Investment Director at Charterhouse Bank, where he provided advice on telecoms projects in both the public and private sectors.
Adrian qualified as a Chartered Accountant and studied Economics at the University of Essex.
