Therman Wheeler named VP of global product for Digital River World Payments

Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a leading provider of global e-commerce solutions, announced the appointment of Therman Wheeler to serve as vice president of global product for Digital River World Payments.

Wheeler brings 15 years of experience in e-commerce, global acquiring and payment verticals to the position, where he has responsibility for driving product strategy, planning and execution across the Digital River® World Payments™ product portfolio.

"Payments continue to be an integral component of the e-commerce and m-commerce ecosystem. By implementing our Digital River World Payments solution and following our Payment Lifecycle Management approach, our clients are turning payments into revenue generating opportunities," said Souheil Badran, senior vice president and general manager of Digital River World Payments. "With well over a decade of global payments work with companies like Microsoft, Therman will play a pivotal role in helping us fuel future strategic development efforts for our payments solution."

Wheeler joins Digital River after seven years at Microsoft, where he most recently focused on global product and payments strategy. He previously served as vice president of strategic development for Citi Merchant Services business with responsibility for developing their global acquiring platform. Therman's experience also includes development of new technologies at American Express and W.L. Gore & Associates.

"Digital River has essentially written the book on global e-commerce for 15 years," Wheeler said. "In this new role, I have the opportunity to help shape our global payments strategies, drive new revenue, and write the next chapter in building businesses for online merchants worldwide."
