DATASHELTER is part of the Radius Financial Edition (RFE) suite that helps capital markets based institutions overcome the data privacy and compliance issues associated with cloud computing and was this week voted a top three security solution, and the only business-to-business (B2B) cloud offering, at the Cloud Computing World Series Awards. The new mobile application means banks' staff can gain access to company data securely while on the move through their mobile device.

DATASHELTER Mobile is compatible with the Apple iPad, Google Android tablets and RIM's PlayBook. It can be configured easily to provide users with access to secured data from internal systems within the corporate firewall via their mobile device, supporting business productivity through access to vital information when away from the office.

DATASHELTER Mobile has been developed following the launch of DATASHELTER earlier this year, which enables financial institutions to benefit from the cost and flexibility advantages of the cloud by integrating with systems such as Salesforce.com or any other public cloud platform, without exposing private and business-critical data from internal systems. This 'mashing-up' of data allows financial institutions to keep certain information highly confidential while also exploiting the benefits of cloud computing.

With Radius DATASHELTER, users can view reports containing both private and public cloud data, while remaining within the firewall. The solution also aggregates data from multiple mission-critical data sources while maintaining compliance with corporate security and legal policies. Since sensitive data does not leave the corporate firewall, any updates made are on the source system, preventing it from becoming stale.

Commenting on the launch of DATASHELTER Mobile, Owen Hall, CEO of Radius, said, "As enterprises and most business users rapidly adopt smartphones and make them mission-critical to their work and livesves, tablets are fast on their heels as a similar major disruptor. The capital markets sector is no exception. As a result, we are witnessing a growing demand from our customers for secure access to business critical data when out of the office. DATASHELTER Mobile makes capital markets professionals more efficient and flexible by providing access to data and files sitting within the company's firewall via any mobile device, rather than having to log onto the PC at the office. With the launch of our mobile application, we are responding to customer and market needs for a more flexible but highly secure way of working, as well as helping to protect companies' reputation."

DataShelter is available in two versions; a professional version requiring configuration and integration with in-house data sources and an enterprise version for institutions wishing to store data within their own golden source systems. The data is encrypted and encapsulated within the business application with full data security which includes the automatic deletion of data beyond a certain age.
