According to Iain High; "With 62 members from 13 European countries comprising network operators, acquirers, internet payment providers and other organisations offering payment schemes, processing and terminal equipment, EPSM represents the perfect forum to share experiences, network and monitor the direction Europe is going in card payments.".
Nicolas Adolph, Chairman of EPSM, introduced Anderson Zaks to its membership and stressed how important it was to have representation from the UK. He also outlined some of the differences between the UK and the rest of Europe in terms of processing trends, and practices.
Several other topics covered at the meeting included a working paper on Point to Point encryption commissioned by EPSM; The Monnet Project and comparisons with Visa's V-Pay; and a study from France on next generation payment terminals.
The next EPSM meeting is scheduled for October and new membership enquiries are encouraged especially for countries in Europe currently not or not strongly represented.
