The fully customisable platform enables clients to trade international stocks online at any time, and now offers investors access to markets in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark and Norway:

  • Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) - for clients interested in mining and natural resources stocks, Australia has a plethora of opportunities, including the likes of BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto
  • Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX) - Asia's second largest exchange in terms of market capitalisation and a window into China. Trade in over 700 companies, such as PetroChina, Industrial & Commercial Bank of China and China Mobile
  • Singapore Exchange (SGX) - a major market in Asia-Pacific, with over 450 stocks available
  • OMX Copenhagen (XCSE) and Oslo Stock Exchange (XOSL) - two of the major Scandinavian markets covering over 300 stocks

With the new market additions, the platform now gives investors access to over 12,000 stocks on 26 major global exchanges across 18 international markets. The platform is supported by market-leading global research and real-time pricing. To ensure investors have everything they need at their fingertips, International Trader also offers market news streamed live from Dow Jones and Market News International, and charting and analytical tools.

Paul Inkster, Head of Product, Barclays Stockbrokers, said: "A strong case remains for investing globally, particularly in developed international equity markets. The launch of International Trader in January this year was in direct response to client appetite for access to a broader range of markets. With the addition of these new exchanges, there is even greater opportunity for our clients to invest in the companies and sectors that really interest them.

Paul Inkster continued: "International Trader is ideal for self-directed clients who prefer to pick their own stocks and seek opportunities in wider markets. The online platform is truly state-of-the-art and provides efficient, cost-effective access to developed global equity markets, as well as allowing investors to tailor the platform to suit their own individual needs and tastes."

For those markets not covered by International Trader, such as some of the emerging economies, investors can still achieve exposure using existing methods, such as ETFs, managed funds and CFDs / FST.
