ValidSoft, a global supplier of fraud prevention, authentication and transaction verification solutions, has announced an agreement with RMS IT Security, a leading IT security solutions provider.

RMS IT Security will be the first channel partner in the UK to provide ValidSoft's Four-Factor Authentication solutions set, VALid. ValidSoft is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elephant Talk Communications, (OTC.BB: ETAK) an international provider of business software to the telecommunications and financial industries.

RMS IT Security launched in February 2011 following a management buy-out of the security business from Redstone Managed Solutions (a division of Redstone PLC). The buy-out means the IT security business remains under the control of some of its longest-serving and most experienced staff.

Robert Cavan, Managing Director for RMS IT Security and previously Managing Director of the Redstone Managed Solutions division, said: "Now we are exclusively a security business we are able to focus our efforts on partnering with best-of-breed technologies. We're always looking for new and innovative security technologies to add to our product portfolio and were impressed with what ValidSoft has to offer."

RMS IT Security recognises that businesses increasingly need to provide instant, convenient and simple access to their staff, but at the same time they need to ensure that the person who is getting access is authenticated securely. Businesses and governmental organisations need to ensure that their information is secure at all times.

"I look forward to introducing this additional level of authentication to customers in the UK and am confident ValidSoft's vision and awareness of the commercial demand for strong authentication solutions will help them successfully expand into the UK market," said Cavan.

VALid is ValidSoft's authentication solution and is based on telephony. The solution addresses risk through an extensible Out-of-Band (OOB) authentication model that can not only vary the authentication strength, but can also implement additional authentication factors through the combination of its own proprietary voice biometric technology coupled with Proximity Correlation Logic (PCL) - the "somewhere you are (or aren't)" factor. In addition to providing a more flexible approach to traditional two-factor authentication, it provides an opportunity to introduce multi-factor authentication for more sensitive applications. As such, VALid can provide a consistent and familiar approach whether it's internet banking, m-banking, CNP authorisation, contact centre authen¬tication and remote access.

Pat Carroll, founder and CEO of ValidSoft, said: "Our relationship with RMS IT Security will help solve verification challenges for government, financial services and retail markets without adding the significant expense and hassle of providing hardware tokens or allowing suppliers into sensitive company areas such as the intranet."
