We have built up a strong presence across the Nordic region over recent years, and we have developed a standardised IT services portfolio for the banking and finance market. This agreement demonstrates the results of this commitment", comments Terje Mjøs, CEO of EDB ErgoGroup.

"We are delighted that Bankernas Automatbolag has demonstrated its confidence in EDB ErgoGroup by entering into this agreement. Our ambition is to be the leading IT services vendor for banks and financial institutions in the Nordic region, and this agreement is an important confirmation of the success of our commitment to this market", explains Wiljar Nesse, Executive Vice President and Head of the Financial Services business area at EDB ErgoGroup.

"Through this collaboration between Bankernas Automatbolag and EDB ErgoGroup, we can offer Swedish banks and other card issuers a unified infrastructure for ATMs and realise synergy benefits by purchasing standardised services. About the services to be delivered

EDB ErgoGroup is to deliver standardised services for the banks' ATMs. This includes administration, software management, transaction processing, settlement and operational monitoring. A combined transition project will make all 2,800 ATMs part of EDB ErgoGroup's service concept for ATMs over the course of 2012.

About the agreement

The contract is based on the letter of intent the parties signed on 1 February 2011. EDB ErgoGroup will take over responsibility for operating the ATMs belonging to the five largest banks in Sweden: Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank. Bankernas Automatbolag will purchase services relating to the operation of the ATMs on behalf of the five banks. EDB ErgoGroup will continue to use the banks' current sub-contract suppliers of technical services and communication networks. The agreement runs for seven years, and represents total contract value in the order of NOK 800 million.

The collaboration with EDB ErgoGroup will also ensure that the banks have access to leading expertise in the area, as well as the synergy benefits of combined purchasing. EDB ErgoGroup has been responsible for operational services for the minibanks operated by most Norwegian banks ever since the end of the 1970s. The company also delivers operating services for minibanks in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. In total, EDB ErgoGroup will now provide services for 3,200 of the 3,800 ATMs in use in Sweden. For the Nordic region as a whole, EDB ErgoGroup provides services for approximately 6,000 ATMs.
