J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. announced today that Sally Dewar will be joining the firm as a senior member of its company-wide Risk team, reporting to Barry Zubrow, global head of Risk. Ms. Dewar was most recently the Managing Director of Risk and a Board member of the U.K.'s Financial Services Authority (FSA). She will join J.P. Morgan Chase on June 1 and will be based in London.
Ms. Dewar's primary focus will be on helping develop the firm's responses and implementation efforts in connection with rulemaking and standards across a broad range of regulatory initiatives in the European Union and United States. She will also participate as a senior J.P. Morgan representative on industry infrastructure utility boards, with a view to help deepen the firm's engagement with these important industry structures, and is expected to join the Board of Directors of J.P. Morgan Securities Limited later in the year.
"Sally has earned an outstanding reputation in her 10 years at the FSA as a highly respected and senior regulator, and we will all benefit from the valuable perspective she will bring to our company," said Mr. Zubrow. "In her role, she will work to enhance the company's already strong relationship with regulatory organizations around the world, working in close coordination with our firm's existing Legal, Compliance, Finance, Risk and line-of-business regulatory points of contact," he added.
"I am very pleased to be joining J.P. Morgan Chase later this year. It is a world-class company, and I am excited about the opportunity of becoming a valued member of its senior Risk team," Ms. Dewar said.
In her most recent role heading Risk for the FSA, Ms. Dewar oversaw 1,000 staff members and had broad-ranging responsibility for the FSA's policy direction, risk capabilities, governance and markets oversight.
