City Index launches mobile trading apps

City Index, a global leader in spread betting, CFD trading and margined foreign exchange, has launched its award-winning mobile spread betting and CFD trading function across Blackberry, Android, Windows and Java handsets.

The expansion further cements City Index's place at the forefront of mobile trading.

With fast-moving and volatile financial markets, it is crucial for traders to have access to their spread betting and CFD trading accounts whenever they want, wherever they are. City Index's first iPhone spread betting and CFD trading application, City Trading, was launched in October 2009 to give clients full and secure access to their trading accounts on their mobile.

City Index went on to win the 'Best Mobile Trading Platform' accolade at the 2010 MoneyAM Online Finance Awards. Joshua Raymond, Market Strategist at the spread betting and CFD trading provider, said: "Since the release of City Trading, the percentage of total trades placed on our mobile platforms has risen from less than 3% to 15%, which underlines just what an impact the City Trading app has had on traders' behaviour."

The spread betting and CFD trading provider recently released an updated version of its iPhone trading app, which Mr Raymond believes will offer users an even better mobile trading experience: "With the addition of the most powerful live charting package available, as well as newsfeeds from Dow Jones Newswires, we hope that clients will continue to benefit from the most comprehensive mobile dealing offering on the market."
