EDB ErgoGroup has entered into a letter of intent with Bankarnas Automatbolag AB (BAB) to take responsibility for services related to the company's 2,800 bank ATMs in Sweden. The contract will run for seven years.

Bankarnas Automatbolag is a company established by Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank. Bankarnas Automatbolag is to take over the banks' ATMs, and provide ATM services to card customers. The ATM services to be provided include cash withdrawals, deposits, and other bank-defined customer services.

"This is a strategically important agreement for EDB ErgoGroup. Sweden is one of our most important focus markets, and this agreement creates a sound foundation for profitable growth in the bank and finance sector", comments Terje Mjøs, CEO of EDB ErgoGroup.

"Our ambition is to be the leading IT services vendor for banks and financial institutions in the Nordic region. We intend to achieve this by developing reliable and cost-effective services across national boundaries. This will strengthen our position in the Swedish and Nordic market very considerably", explains Wiljar Nesse, Executive Vice President and Head of the Financial Services business area at EDB ErgoGroup.
