Established in 1903, First National Bank of Elmer has more than 23,000 accounts, $220 million in assets and six branches. The bank serves the southern region of New Jersey and provides a full range of financial services to consumers and merchants. According to the bank, combining the most up to date core technology with a single loan system will not only increase its level of customer service, but provide the institution with the technology it needs for future growth.

"First National Bank of Elmer has been an existing Open Solutions client for several years. The decision to upgrade the bank to the DNA platform was influenced over a long-standing positive working relationship as well as the desire to increase our service levels by using modern technology," said Doug Carll, CEO of First National Bank of Elmer. "Our main priority was finding a solution that had an embedded single loan system to unify the three separate installment, commercial, and mortgage loan systems we had been using previously. The DNA Platform provides the flexibility we needed, backed by a company we trust."

Enhanced by Open Solutions' advanced open platform and using .NET technology, DNA capitalizes on the strength of the company's unique universal data model and design and its client-centric processes, while greatly enhancing workflow, flexibility and productivity. Built on a powerful, centralized Oracle® relational database, the solution provides the flexibility necessary for running a service-oriented financial institution. Available as an in-house or outsourced solution, it helps financial institutions streamline both front- and back-office processes and creates a centralized view of customers, employees and business partners. First National Bank of Elmer will implement DNA in an outsourced environment through Open Solutions' world-class data center.

To compliment the upgrade to DNA, FNB Elmer also chose to implement digital documents solutions with eStatements; the Financial Accounting Suite (FAS); and cView, including MyVision, Market Vision, Dynamic Messaging and Report Wizard. "Running Open Solutions' products will ultimately enable our bank to reduce cross-training and allow us to operate much more efficiently," Carll continued. "The ease of use our employees will see upon implementation in conjunction with work-flow automation will support our goals of increasing overall operational efficiencies."

"We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with First National Bank of Elmer for years. We are building on this relationship by providing the bank the necessary tools it needs to serve the community of southern New Jersey," said Louis Hernandez, Jr., chairman and CEO of Open Solutions. "By implementing DNA, the bank is adopting a modern and flexible core platform that will not only increase their already high level of customer service, but position them for growth in a competitive market. We look forward to continuing our productive and lasting relationship with First National Bank of Elmer well into the future."
