IPC Systems, a leading provider of trading communications solutions to the world's top financial services firms and global enterprises, today announced that it has extended its collaboration with Equinix, a global data centre services company, with upgraded connectivity to two of Equinix's European data centres in Frankfurt and London Slough.

Equinix is home to IPC's core network infrastructure at its North American data centres in Chicago, New York and Toronto, and across the Asia-Pacific region in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Through these locations, IPC's private and secure network and Electronic Connectivity Services (ECS) interconnect more than 200 cities across six continents, with built-in resiliency for low latency and high service availability, making it an ideal connectivity environment for the electronic trading community that resides in Equinix.

Equinix is widely used by exchanges and trading venues to support mission-critical operations for the world's most demanding financial services firms. IPC will provide its global financial customer base of 2,400 trading floors and nearly 4,000 market participants with secure, low-latency dedicated electronic connectivity and voice services to the Equinix financial ecosystems in Frankfurt and London Slough.

"The Equinix global platform effectively serves its financial market participants with a direct connection to its partners," said John Knuff, general manager of Global Financial Services at Equinix. "IPC provides our financial partners and customers with a reliable and scalable option for their trading connectivity requirements. IPC has a global footprint and depth of experience that makes it a high quality connectivity choice for our financial communities in Frankfurt and London Slough."

Equinix's IBX International Business ExchangeTM (IBX®) data centres in Frankfurt and London Slough serve as the central colocation sites for a number of key markets and exchanges, and reflect the company's position as the data centre of choice in the world's key financial markets, offering a wide range of low latency connectivity, interconnection and colocation capabilities.

"ECS is a compelling connectivity choice for members of the electronic trading community operating within Equinix's financial ecosystems in the London Slouugh and Frankfurt IBX data centres," said Dave Brown, IPC Senior Vice President of Global Network Operations. "We represent a strong choice, especially for firms looking to trade across multiple regions, in emerging markets such as Eastern Europe and the Middle East, as well as expanding financial services markets in the Asia-Pacific region."
