The database solution designed by Experian's Marketing Services division contains two million customer records and supports all of Northern Rock's direct marketing activity. Intravue, Experian's campaign management solution improves the profiling of Northern Rock's customers and the execution of direct marketing campaigns, whilst Truvue, Experian's customer data integration service, enhances the integrity of the bank's customer data by providing a reference-based single customer view.

As part of the project, Experian will introduce iMarketer, Experian's reporting and analysis solution, to help the bank improve customer retention and increase cross-sell opportunities for its range of mortgages, loans and savings products.

By integrating iMarketer into the current marketing database, the enhanced solution designed by Experian will now fully cater for all Northern Rock's analysis, profiling, modelling and reporting requirements. Key advantages for the bank include:

  • The ability to make more timely and relevant decisions by reducing analysis timescales from days to minutes;
  • An improvement in marketing efficiencies, through a more in-depth understanding of Northern Rock's data, customers and business; and
  • A graphical user interface making data exploration more intuitive for Northern Rock's analysts and marketing users

Jen Coyle, Customer Analysis Manager for Northern Rock stated: "Northern Rock has worked with Experian for the last 16 years. The latest enhancement builds on what is already an impressive marketing database solution. Working together in partnership, Experian will help Northern Rock to take the large volume of data held on our database and analyse it in the click of a mouse button."

Alison Bowler, Director of Client Services for Experian's Marketing Services division, added: "Today's announcement demonstrates that Experian's Marketing Services division is continually looking at new ways to enrich the way our clients approach direct marketing. We are looking forward to working with Northern Rock to help ensure that its cross sell and customer retention programmes continue to go from strength to strength."
