Options IT, a leading provider of ultra-low latency market data and connectivity, fully managed application hosting, and high-performance technology Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for the buyside and sellside, today announced it has gone live with its first Pipe Velocity high-frequency trading client in the Exchange Hosting facility at the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

PIPE Velocity is a complete HFT technology solution, providing ultra-low latency market data, high throughput market connectivity and vendor neutral application hosting as a single, fully managed service for all available major markets across North America, Europe and Asia.

Options IT was among the first service providers invited into the LSE's colocation Exchange Hosting facility. The addition of service providers is a "significant strategic step in the evolution of the Exchange Hosting service" the LSE said in a formal announcement on Oct. 18, adding that it was intended to create a "unique community of both trading firms and solution providers."

"The LSE's move to open its colocation facility to all market participants and service providers is a step to ensure diversity and growth for their trading community at the datacenter level," said Nigel Kneafsey, CEO of Options IT. "We're happy to join that community and applaud the LSE's growth strategy, which runs counter to the strategies of some other exchange colocation facilities."

PIPE Velocity is one of three IaaS offerings provided via the Options PIPE platform, a fully managed and optimized global technology environment offering on-demand, private cloud technology solutions to more than 120 hedge funds, proprietary trading shops, investment banks and brokerage firms globally.
