Paysafecard, Europe's most popular prepaid voucher for Internet payments, is now available in the United States.

The voucher enables consumers to use an easy and secure prepaid solution similar to cash for their online purchases. As it is the first product of its kind in the US market, American companies that accept paysafecard as a payment method can now reach out to new target groups.

"The United States are the biggest economy in the world with a tremendous market potential for prepaid payment solutions", explains Michael Mueller, CEO of paysafecard group. "Although credit cards are widely used in the US, there are still millions of people who don't have a credit card or bank account or who don't want to use them for online purchases. Together with our partner, The Bancorp Bank, we enable American companies to reach out to new target groups which will increase their revenue," says Michael Mueller.

Unlike open loop prepaid cards that are common in the US, paysafecard vouchers do not charge any fees to the consumer. Customers also do not have to register themselves when using a paysafecard. Another specific characteristic of the voucher is that it is not limited to one particular game or online-shop. It can be used at any website that offers paysafecard as a payment method.

On a global scale, paysafecard has already been incorporated as a leading payment method by many of the world's largest online gaming companies. As paysafecard continues to expand in the United States, paysafecard will extend such relationships and build the most secure payments network for U.S. gaming companies, such as NHN USA, which has already adopted paysafecard as a prepaid payments solution for its players.

The vouchers are the only prepaid solution of its kind in the US issued by a bank (The Bancorp Bank Payment Solutions Group). Based on this unique cooperation, paysafecard group can offer partners and customers the safest online prepaid voucher on the market.

paysafecard vouchers are already available at more than 12,000 outlets in the U.S. in denominations of $10, $25, $50 and $100.

The vouchers function like a charge card for mobile phones. When making a payment, customers' financial privacy remains fully intact. The voucher's 16 digit pin code is all that is needed to make a transaction. The amount paid is then debited from the paysafecard balance, which can be checked online at any time. The vouchers can be bought at 300,000 outlets in Europe, South America and the US. More than 3,500 web-shops around the world accept paysafecard as a payment method.
