Wincor Nixdorf has won a contract from Sparkasse Bielefeld to redesign its city branch.

As a specialist in the bank branch and retail store business, the IT solutions provider will act as general contractor with overall responsibility for all individual projects required to transform the branch into a modern advice center. Reconstruction is scheduled to start this year and reach completion in December 2011.

Wincor Nixdorf joined forces with Göttingen architects Kranz InnenArchitekten to present the successful solution in a competition with several other providers. The contract involving redesign of the city branch, where a total of 150 employees work, is the most important to date for Wincor Nixdorf in the area of end-to-end branch optimization.

Wincor Nixdorf presents its portfolio for bank branch business under the title WIN@Branch. It offers services ranging from branch process analysis, design and implementation to operations management. The company also operates as a full-service provider in offering branch redesign and optimization projects for existing branches.

The current project involves transforming Sparkasse Bielefeld's city branch into an advice center and integrating a representative real-estate center. It will include a new space concept for the branch's business and retail customer consulting activities, with the possibility of making appointments on a personalized or cross-discipline basis. In addition, the branch will integrate a broad self-service offering. The new flagship branch has to satisfy historic building regulations as well as design rules issued by the association of German savings banks. It will therefore mix historical with modern elements, giving a distinctly modern touch to the building's interior and exterior appearance.
