Ingenico, the global leader in secure transaction and payment solutions, and IRN Payments Systems (IRN), a leader in the credit card processing industry, announced today that IRN has chosen Ingenico's Roam Mobile Payments solution to offer to its merchants.

Ingenico will supply IRN with the PCI-DSS certified ROAM mobile payments application along with the ROAMpay Swipe card reader that operates off the merchant's phone audio jack. This device agnostic mobile software, combined with the encrypted card reader, will turn merchants' smartphones into cost-effective mobile Point-of-Sale (POS) devices. The Ingenico ROAM Mobile Payment software and swipe card reader can be used on a wide variety of mobile devices including BlackBerry, Android, iPad, and iPhone (2G, 3G, and 4G).

"IRN realizes the great potential of offering merchants the ability to take credit card transactions through their cell phone," said James F. Marchese, executive vice president of IRN. "This new and innovative mobile solution enables our merchants direct access to many new markets and provides them with a competitive edge."

Ingenico ROAM Mobile Payment solution is powered by ROAM Data, Ingenico's mCommerce solutions provider and strategic partner. With this solution mobile devices do not require additional programming and certification. The Ingenico ROAM Mobile Payment solution provides secure transactions through ROAM's PCI-certified payment gateway.

"Mobile payment solutions are definitely starting to gain ground among merchants in the U.S. as a complement to their traditional POS systems," said Lisa Shipley, senior vice president of Sales, Ingenico, North America. "The Ingenico ROAM Mobile app is one of the most compelling and innovative mobile payments solution that is available today and we are excited IRN has decided to adopt this flexible mobile app to expand their merchants' ability to capture more transactions beyond traditional POS and increase sales."
