Searchspace, a world leading provider of anti-money laundering and fraud detection solutions to the financial services industry, has announced the appointment of John Sussens as non-executive director.

John Sussens former managing director for Misys plc retired in the summer of 2004 and has since taken on a small number of non-executive roles including directorships of Admiral Group plc, Phoenix Group plc, Cookson Group plc, and Anglo & Overseas Trust plc. John was appointed to the Misys board with global responsibility for all operating divisions in 1989. Misys has established itself as one of Europe's most successful software companies employing over 6000 staff and operating in more than 120 countries.

"Searchspace is one of the most dynamic and innovative software companies operating in the financial services market today. Their track record in gaining so many world leading financial services providers as customers is testament to the ground-breaking nature of their solutions. I am very pleased to be joining Searchspace at this pivotal time in their history," said John Sussens.

Searchspace monitors over 400 million accounts a day, working with regional, national and global banks. Its software enables organisations to automatically interpret and act upon vast amounts of data, assisting regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and brand protection. Every transaction is monitored for unusual activity, immediately notifying compliance staff about those that may require further investigation and providing them with an evidential audit to effectively manage the compliance process. Advanced detection technology enables the capture of both known and unknown patterns of suspicious behavior.

"We are very much looking forward to working with John, he brings real depth of experience and operational practice to Searchspace. This will be of tremendous benefit to the team as we continue to grow the business and develop new markets," said Jason Kingdon, CEO of Searchspace.
