Exegy and Solace Systems form market data alliance

Exegy, the hardware-accelerated market data appliance company, and Solace Systems, the leading provider of hardware-based middleware, announced today an alliance for market data collection and distribution.

Large trading groups are increasingly using hardware-based systems to cope with the ever increasing volumes of market data, and traders need to collect and distribute data with extremely low, consistent latency. The Exegy Total Connect, Exegy's low-latency market data appliance, will work with the Solace Message Router to simplify the enterprise-wide distribution of market data.

The integration allows a single 2U Exegy Total Connect appliance to consume all available market data feeds and simultaneously distribute relevant data to hundreds of client applications through the Solace Message Router. Software-based solutions typically have a much larger footprint in the data center and suffer from latency jitter under load. The consolidation, out-of-the-box behavior and linear scalability associated with using appliances for both feed handling and distribution of market data reduces the cost and complexity of the system.

"Fast, predictable market data is the cornerstone of successful trading operations", said Shawn McAllister, Chief Technology Officer at Solace Systems, "The combination of the Exegy and Solace appliances provides a unique hardware-based solution for accelerating access to market data, whether in a co-location facility, or across the enterprise."

Scott Parsons, Exegy's Chief Scientist and Chief Architect said, "Our clients want to extend the ultra low-latency performance and space savings of our unique market data appliance to more and more users. Those same customers recognize the inherent advantages of hardware-based systems, so working with Solace is an obvious development. This powerful combination satisfies a growing need to deliver ultra low latency market data deeper into the enterprise."
